Striking the ball

A point of information only with regard to the great and demanding game of golf. The Loma Linda Golf
Center (driving range) on Barton Rd. (909)796-7688 currently offers one great promotion Friday through
Sunday Titled "hit till your happy" for $15.00. That is for $15.00 you can blast golf balls from 0900 until
closing. Drop by and say howdy to Richard Lee, the range manager as well as his fine staff. Jack, Mark,
Jason and my good friend Don. Opp!s almost forgot to mention Mr. Linn the facility owner, all of which
are great people. And remember the price is always right.

Add to information on Loma Linda Golf Center............... Calling all of you Seniors, a new change in the
weekday time, until further notice half price on all baskets from 0900 to 1600, not a bad deal for us old
hackers huh?

As mentioned above, I do play golf in a mens club. The course "Palm Meadows Golf Club" (The old
Norton AFB) will offer a stern test of your ability, especially the front nine. The course is well managed
and maintained due to the excellent staff, beginning with the General Manager PGA Pro. Troy Burton
(yip! he is the brother of LPGA Star Brandie, one of my favorites) Steve, Jerry, Beverly, Bruce and all of the
many support people including my buddy John one of the marshalls. The Club house offers all of the
various amenities, and they treat you like family not just a customer.

In the mens club which I feel honored to be a part of you will not find a better group of men. The club is
well run and people oriented. Drop on by for a visit on Wed. or Sun. AM then make your plans to join or
just reserve some open play time, call (909)382-2002 for additional details. If you stop by on most Sundays,
you can say hello and chat with William (Sonny) Ryan the former head PGA Pro. now retired. Enjoy your
visit. (UPDATE... as of this writing I have been unable to play due to a bad left wrist and shoulder but
will be back later this year or next)

I don't know how many of you have had the opportunity to play any of the courses in the Monterey area,
but if you have the time you may want to drive up and enjoy all of the great scenery. My favorite is Pebble
Beach and I, like most of the people who have been lucky enough to play there feel that "if I have one
more round to play before I cash in", it has to be here. Spy Glass/Cypress Point are a great test and will
give all of your clubs a workout, But to experience Pebble for the average person is more than worth the
green fee (approx $300.00 per. round).
